Mmmmmm... hot chocolate

Until today, I had avoided the coffee shop craze. I'm not a coffee drinker so I suppose I didn't have a reason to stop and see what the fuss was all about.

Today I had a meeting at a local Caribou. I showed up a little early to scope the place out. Even though I don't like coffee, I find the smell of good coffee to be heavenly! The place smelled great. Looking at the menu, I was hoping there was something I could order so I wouldn't be the odd person out.

Then I saw it, "White Hot Cocoa" Mmmmmm. I love hot chocolate.

I looked around, and picked out a spot. After sipping my hot cocoa, and pulling some papers out of my binder, I scoped out the room. It was cozy. There was a fireplace, big fluffy chairs, and cute tables. It seemed comfortable, to everyone. A place where a bag pack and torn jeans could come together with business suits and expensive brief cases.

As I sipped my fancified hot cocoa, I notice the writing near the bottom of my cup.

"Life if short. Stay awake for it."

Interesting. Inspiring.
Even without caffeine. :-)

  1. There was a Caribou near where I went to college. (I spent many hours studying there!)

Good choice on the white hot cocoa. I'm not a coffee drinker either, but I love their hot chocolate.

  2. I don't do coffee either, but I love to get hot chocolate. I also get the Chi Tea a lot. You can get it as a latte (where they add milk like they would a coffee latte) or as a mocha (where they add milk and chocolate). It is really good. You might try that some time, also. If you only see chi tea or chi latte on the menu, just ask them if they can make it the way you want it. They are usually really good about that.

  3. This sounds delicious. There are Caribou all over here so maybe I'll have to stop in and try some soon.

  4. Too funny. I don't like coffee either, but I do like the smell of it! I've toyed with the idea of getting a coffee Yankee Candle or something instead of the real thing. LOL I like that little tag line. I've never heard of Caribou before - must not be a New England thing.

  5. I too am not a coffee drinker, but have succumbed to the coffee shop addiction. My faves - Starbucks' white hot chocolate in the winter and Starbucks' Black Iced Tea in the summer.

  6. I HEART Caribou--mostly for the atmosphere because I find the coffee too strong & bitter, but they have other fun drinks. It is a very relaxing place to go with your laptop or a good book.
