Weekend Flair #9 ~ Refrigerator Magnets

I have seen this project on several other blogs, as well as at the craft store. I was excited to have the chance to give it a try!

Supply List:

  • Large, Flat, Clear Marbles
  • Decorative Paper (or photos would work!)
  • Mod Podge
  • Magnets
  • Hot Glue

Place marbles over areas you would like to show through.

Trace, then cut out.

Place a thin layer of mod podge on the back of marble.

Firmly place paper on the back of marble.

Let dry completely. Place a thin layer of mod podge on the back of the marble/paper. This acts as a sealant . Let dry completely. Then, using a hot glue gun, place a small dot of glue on the back. Press magnet firmly to glue dot.

Enjoy!

  1. I made those one year with tissue paper. I think the scrapbook paper looks better. Cool paper!

  6. I've been wanting to make these too! What kind of magnets did you use? Were they strong enough?

  7. The magnets I used where "magspec" brand in yellow and purple packaging, and definitely strong enough! I bought a package of 50 at Michaels.

  9. I haven't made these for years. When I did them, I stamped an image onto cardstock and then did the rest but used diamond glaze instead of modpodge. Yours turned out great and I just love that you found paper with kitcheny type words on it!
