Weekend Flair #13

Alternative Post Title: How my Sister In Law saved my Weekend Flair project...

I'm always on the lookout for things on clearance that I can use later in a craft project! When I picked up the playing cards (used last week), I also picked up a vinyl quote, "...because every photo has a story to tell". I thought it was absolutely perfect for my craft room. The negative was, it was too lightly colored to show up on the Honey Bear colored walls. Also, I was a bit apprehensive about deciding where on the wall to put it. If you knew how many times I punch nail holes in the wall because I decided to move a frame, you would understand.

I had been pondering what to do, when recently at Michaels I found another frame on clearance. After Weekend Flair 12, I was inspired to do another frame project.

As I was spacing out the vinyl and cutting to fit, I started taking off the label. Not good. It was stuck like nobody's business.

I ran upstairs to the sink, and tried soap and water. It just didn't want to come off. I was nearly ready to give up. I couldn't have a nasty label showing through the lettering!

Then, I remembered Alan giving a glowing review of some sort of pan scrapers his sister had given us.  Come to find out they are from Pampered Chef.

I grabbed one of them, and in under a minute, had all the label off. Simple. Love. It.

Thank you Sharon!

Now,  moving to the project. I had the quote cut into 3 lines to fit the frame. It was then only a matter of following the directions on the back of the final to apply to the glass on the frame.

 LOVE IT!

I'm not sure about that color behind it. It is only held there be a single piece of tape, thus I can change my mind later. I have also considered using a different color and spray painting the frame red to match some of the other decor in the room.

What do you think?

What weekend projects will you be doing?

  2. Projects? Hmmm, perhaps we will finish toddlerproofing. Other than that, we just plan on enjoying a sick-free (fingers crossed) weekend. :)

  6. I love those pan scrapers from Pampered Chef. I have at least 5 of them. The picture was very cute. I wish I could think of cute crafty things like that to make for my house. Instead my walls are pretty much bare.
