One Little Word August 1st Blog Hop

I have been struggling in doing the OLW assignments (previous OLW posts here). I like the idea of doing them, and love the prompts, however have not been able to make time.

This month, I feel like I hurried through. I haven't found enough songs to fill the spaces. I REALLY enjoy music and was initially excited about this prompt, however quickly due to time. :( I am hoping that over the next month, I can add the rest of the spots.

My song list thus far:

1: Matisyahu - One Day
2: Matchbox Twenty - How far we've come
3: Reba - A little want to
4: Shakira - Waka Waka
5: (trying to find something with SIMPLE for this one)
6: One Republic - Good Life
7 -9 to be determined over the next month. I do not want to rush just to be done. I want to make sure I'm really picking meaningful songs and lyrics!

I did not yet burn a CD, as I'm waiting for all my songs to be selected.  If you have suggestions for "SIMPLE", please let me know!

I am planning to incorporate the flower/butterfly photo in the month somehow. It may go into the pocket next to the CD. I'll see how it all fits together as I pick the rest of the songs!

Next stop on the blog hop is  http://www.katlodesigns.com/. Go over and show Kathryn some comment love!

  2. Taking the time to make it really meaningful will ultimately be so much more satisfying than rushing through to meet a deadline. You have a great start!

  3. I think it's great that you're taking the time to look for songs that really mean something to you. I chose a "simple" song for one of mine - "Simple Things" by Amy Grant. You can listen to it on my blog post (I'm right before you...). Blessings as you keep up with the project! :)

  4. I like that you trusted your gut and went with what you had. Maybe that's all you need this time! 9 is just an arbitrary number you know.

  5. Part of OLW is letting your word speak to you and sometimes it just takes awhile. It's great that you didn't just fill in the spaces and that you are waiting until you feel a connection.

  6. kimberly - i love that you shared what you had! so many times i think we hold back because something isn't "finished." life is a journey and i've accepted that i'll never be finished but i love sharing what we are all doing along the way. your songs are awesome. maybe you'll be inspired in finding the remaining songs as you visit everyone's blogs. i know i was. good luck!

  7. Thanks for showing us your progress. It looks great so far and it sounds like you are on the right track and will have the rest of your songs in no time. I love that you are waiting until you find just the right ones. Glad to have you along for another blog hop!

  8. Great choice of songs. I like that for the July prompt you didn't get it done for the sake of getting it done. I only found 7 songs and if and when I find more that connect to my word I'll add them. If not, that is ok too.
