Friday Fill-Ins #74

Friday Fill-Ins #74

1. For me not trying is the opposite of creativity.
2. I can't remember the last excellent book I read. I haven't read anything other than stuff for school for way to long.
3. I like fill-ins because it is a great way to get me thinking on a Friday and it is always fun to meet new people!
4. In nature I like looking at the amazing beauty.
5. Though none of the candidates are perfect, I believe Obama should win the US elections.
6. The last time I laughed with all my belly was this last week while on vacation.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing, tomorrow my plans include attending a friend's wedding and Sunday, I want to catch up on laundry from our trip!

Our Wedding Anniversary!

Eleven... the number of years we have been together
One... ring bearer
Two... flower girls
Ten... the number of attendants
Six... colors. I couldn't decide on one, so all attendants/flower girls had a different color (same dress pattern!)
Hundreds... of photos from family, friends and our great professional photographer!

(*We were lucky enough to be able to purchase the rights to all of our professional wedding photos!)
Four... the number of years we have been married
29... the date we celebrate each month for our monthly anniversary
Countless... the number of moments that husband has swept me off my feet!

Happy Anniversary Lovey!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to also wish Geeka and her significant other a wonderful anniversary! They were married four years ago today too!
Way Back When...
Well, maybe not that long ago :) Michie, over at Seeking Imperfection gave me this award!
OOH. I love awards :)
Thank you SO much!
With my vacation, I haven't been able to decide which bloggers to pass this too. Thus, watch for it in the coming weeks!
May 26, 2008
How did I get to you?
I love, yes L-O-V-E, finding new blogs. For me, it is like curling up with a good book, or talking to an old friend. It brings comfort, emotion, friendship...
It is interesting how I come across a new blog. There are those I have search for. Yes, I may have google something and came across you. Other times, I have just taken an entire evening and clicked on my current reads blog roll to check out some new sites. It is amazing how quickly time passes when catching up on a few new blogs!
I participate in a few weekly carnivals, and enjoy a good blogging party now and then and find these are great ways to meet new people.
However, the most exciting way to find a new blog... something new... fresh... something different from what I read now is when I click on a blogroll link, read a little, click on a link in their post, read some more. And then "OOH, that one looks interesting!" click! Click Click Click! Then before I know it, several hours, and blogs later I realize I have no idea
how I ended up at the page my firefox window is displaying in front of me. My adrenaline is pumping just thinking about it!
Crazy, isn't it? So what is your story?
So, how did you find me?
May 25, 2008
How did you get here?
I'm a huge fan of Google Analytics and recently was curious what kind of Google searches one would have to do to end up at my blog. After checking with Google Analytics, here are a few searches that ended up here...
  • crazy daisies (ok this one makes sense)
  • office max ink cartridge exchange (Yep, must have linked to here)
  • card stamping, gradution card
  • 2008 photo gradution cards daisy
  • cricut cards
  • baby cards
  • cricut & "baby card"
(Yes, yes and yes, I'm all about my cricut, card making, scrapbooking and crafty stuff)
  • crazy daisy 60's
  • background butterflies
  • crazy daisy flip flops
  • fabric giveaway blog
  • butterfly quote
  • "i prefer daisies"
(...Interesting... I'm not sure if these good folks found what they were looking for. I suppose it is possible. Either way I'm happy they stopped by for a few moments.)
Two Tickets to Paradise
We checked into our hotel, unloaded our suitcases and then went out to find something to eat. We come back to find all the parking spots have been magically taken, or are being blocked off by a gigantic bus. Annoyed, we find a spot to park in, and head for the side door of the hotel which is closest to our room. We have noticed a couple people running in and out of the hotel, to and from a car and the bus. There are a couple people standing at the door when we go in, saying something about needing a room key and someone not giving it to them. They held the door for us. We hurried past them and headed to our room. One of the room doors were open, some people saying "goodnight, see you in the morning..."
They all had Eddie Money concert tour t-shirts... Honestly, I didn't notice. I was to tired and just wanted to sleep. Once we got to our room and shut the door, my husband told me about the tshirts, we looked it up and sure enough, he just had 2 concerts in Michigan, near were we are staying!
Eddie Money is sleeping in the hotel room, just TWO doors down from us! What are the chances?
Random thoughts
  • Our wedding anniversary is coming up next week! We are going on a road trip to Niagara Falls! I've been trying to clean, pack, organize all this week, and it is starting to come down to the wire! Any advise for the must see in the area?
  • When going on vacation, I struggle with packing/getting ready for the trip and also trying to clean my apartment. I hate coming home to a mess.
  • I'll try to blog some from our vacation, however we will be camping 1/2 of the time, and not sure if I'll have internet access.
  • I had my dentist check up/cleaning today. I hate going to the dentist.
  • I love wii fit! It is amazingly fun!
  • "I need to play Guitar Hero, I'm going through withdrawal" came out of my husbands mouth yesterday, after we had played wii fit for hours the day before!
  • Being done with school hasn't hit me completely. I think once summer session classes start without me I'll have to sit and reflect.
  • I'm missing some of my friends, even friends (like K!) that aren't from school. I just haven't been able to hang out with them for awhile!
  • I have a 3 person tent set up in my living room. We wanted to make sure all the pieces were there! :-)
  • My TMJ is acting up. I haven't blogged about it before as It is an on going issue I could complain about every day.
  • I didn't get the "dream job" that I was ambivalent about and have been going on and on about for months. I was one of 2 finalists and I received a call yesterday letting me know they had offered it (and it was accepted by) the other finalist. I have mixed feelings. I'm happy that I don't have to decide, as I don't know what I would have done. It was part time and the drive would have been frustrating with gas prices. However, it would have been an income. Plus in the kind of office I would LOVE to work in.
  • I hate spiders.
Works For Me Wednesday - Scrap Paper storage
I'm one of those crafters that hates throwing away even the smallest bit of paper. I love going back and making cards from leftover paper from previous projects. Eventually I had to find a storage solution.
I purchased a few file folders, and a file tote. I have everything organized by color. For the hard to categorize, I have a 'multi color' folder.
It just works for me!
Be sure to visit Rocks In My Dryer for other WFMW participants!
Five things
1. I came home last night to a nasty smell in the apartment. It seems we didn't have all our dirty dishes rinsed out before we left. Must do all the dishes today!
2. I have a ton of things to do this week! Next week is our wedding anniversary and we are planning a little get-away! :)
3. I must get the shower invites done and mailed today!
4. We have a mountain of laundry I need to wash today.
5. My brother's graduation was nice (and short) hehe! One hour, 16 graduates. Perfect. It is a little strange seeing my little brother getting ready for college. They grow up too fast :)
Weekend Flair #7
With my being out of town, my instructions and photos are a little short, however I wanted to show you what I have been working on! If you have any questions, or need clarification, just ask :-)
Supply Photo:
In searching for sample bridal shower invites, I came across
this website. I was able to adjust a couple of their samples to fit what I needed for wording. I also used Cricut cartridges Walk in My Garden (for the butterfly) and Accent Essentials for the fancy purple squares.
After cutting the butterflies and squares, I made a assembly line of sorts and put them together!
Step One: Print invite on white cardstock and cut all butterflies and squares
Step Two: Glue purple squares on card stock
Step Three: Add crystal
Step Four: Add Butterfly (Note, I started using the foam squares to make these pop, but it proved to be a pain in the bottom. I ended up using glue dots)
Step Five: Round corners
I ended up a few short, so will have to finish on Monday.
What creative projects are you working on?
May 17, 2008
Even with all the things I was doing on Thursday and posted about for my Thursday Thirteen a couple days ago, I am still behind. Honestly, that list was just too much, but it wasn't until I was about 3/4 through the day when I realized it! I was running around like a crazy lady all day, and only managed to get about 75% of the invites made, most the laundry done, about 1/2 the dishes washed, thank yous done for my husband's birthday, and business cards for my brother. As far as unpacking my school bag, I didn't get any further than opening it, shaking my head and starting on the next project, and I'll have to do my grad thank yous on Monday.
Today was a busy day as well, trying to pack the car for our quick weekend trip, finishing up little projects and getting the car in for an oil change.
Now, I'm blogging from my husband's parents, getting ready for bed. We ventured out here to visit and attend my brother's high school graduation tomorrow!
On our 8 hour trip, we talked about where to go for our anniversary vacation, as well as what to do if I were to be offered a job, or what to do if I wasn't. It was a hard discussion, as there are so many unknowns and frustrations that go a long with either decision.
Well, time for some sleep! Good night!
1.... Making invites for my sister's bridal shower
2... Landry (I'm way behind, as the washing machine was leading and just got fixed!
3... Making business cards for my brother
4... Trying to decide what to do about the job... I haven't been offered anything, but found out I'm one of 2 finalists!
5... Making a scrapbook for my brother. He graduates from high school on Saturday!
6... Clean out and sort my school bag.
10... Cleaning out the car to travel to my brothers graduation
11... Trying to decide were to go on our anniversary trip in TWO weeks!
13... Trying to figure out how I managed to get anything done while I was in school... oh yeah, I really didn't :-)
Ridiculously Ambivalent
Remember this dream job I have been ogling now for months, and interviewed for just last week? Well now the reasons it may not work are starting to out weigh the reason it would be perfect. However, Even after pondering it, talking to my husband about it, explaining the situation to my friends and co-workers, I have no idea what to do.
To put even more weight on deciding, I have a 2nd round meeting coming up! I was called today to meet in the next 2 days with the President of the College! I felt excited, yet wanted to run the other way. I still feel strong about the job and how it would provide me with many great opportunities, however some things have come up that I'm not sure the good outweigh the not so good.
I don't want to go through with the next meeting (on Wednesday!) if I'm sure I don't want the position. However, I don't want to back out at this point, as 1. I'm a people pleaser. So many people have given me good references, and put in a good word for me. I don't want them to feel it was all for nothing; 2. I really did want this job. However, maybe others will just look at me as an ambivalent mess, and not be as supportive next time.; 3. What if I am really supposed to have this job, take the risk, and become a stronger person through this, and I back out? How do I know? Sure, meditate, pray, talk to others... done all that. Still haven't a clue what to do.
Any other ideas? HELP!!!
{I Love you this much} Award!
Barbara over at Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers received this award a few days ago, and decided to pass it along... to ME, as well as some other well deserving folks!
Now, I have the task of passing it a long to 10 more people! Of course, I would give it to Barbara if she hadn't already received it and passed it to me. (She has a great blog and is SO sweet! Really, look at this!).
It was a very hard task picking only 10. I have found so many great blogs and met many great bloggers! I cannot even imagine the total number of hours I have spend reading through new blogs, and catching up on old favorites. I read all kinds of blogs... organizing blogs, craft blogs, money saving blogs... however my favorite ones are those that cover the daily stuff of life, the real stuff.
With that said, I want to honor those bloggers that I have laughed with, cried with, and felt genuinely connected with.
Additionally, I decided to bend the pick ten rule. I decided on 12!
Thursday Thirteen #3
Thirteen things to NOT do before an interview...
1.... Do not plant flowers the night before. No matter how hard you try, there will still be dirt in your finger nails.
2... Do not wait until the night before to pick out what to wear. What you want to wear will be dirty and you will have to stay up late to wash it.
3... Do not stay up late the evening before your interview (if you missed it, refer to #2).
4... Do no think about the other job you want to apply to. It becomes very confusing.
5... Do not do anything crafty. If you do, you will end up with marker/paint, or some other random blotch of purple on your palm.
6... Do not get there an hour and a half early. You will be bored and become more anxious.
7... Do not wait to use the bathroom. Go plenty ahead of time (no - no problems here today, I'm just sayin').
8... Do not plan anything else for the day. You will be tired after and want to rest.
9... Do not convince yourself you are to nervous to eat. Yes, you are nervous. However, I assume you do not want your stomach to answer the questions for you.
10... Do not assume you will want to wear your interview clothes the rest of the day. Do pack something else!
11... Do not attempt to eat yogurt while driving to the interview. This will only end badly.
12... Do not practice questions on the way to the interview.
13... Do not be nervous. Sure a little is okay, but find your happy place. :-)
... I cannot say I experience ALL of these today, however am embarrassed to say I did experience a few... What have been your interview hiccups?
What is a good goodbye?
Today was the last day of my internship. I said "see you later" to my co-workers, friends, and students. I have been there since August and put in over 600 hours. They tossed me in the first day, bright and early at 7:30 am signing students up for tutoring times and then helping with class schedules. I never looked back. It has been amazing, truly one of the best experiences of my formal education!
The rest of this week will be filled with goodbyes. I'm not ready for them. I want to run the other direction. I have been in school, in some capacity, for such a long time. It is hard to imagine not being a student. Now, I have to say goodbye to so many people that have helped me get to where I am today.
My professors... I had some good, some bad, and a handful of really great ones! In their own way, they all taught me something. Patience, determination, leadership, integrity, to believe in myself, and yes, even conflict resolution. I will miss their guidance, wisdom and friendship.
My friends... In the short 2 years of my graduate program, I have met some phenomenal people that I am honored to call my friend. I hope to keep in touch with many of them, however it is hard to say what life will bring, and the paths we will all take.
My co-workers... I have worked in 2 different offices the last 2 years and have become very attached. Today I said "see you later to my internship", Thursday I will say goodbye to those at my graduate assistantship. These people have truly shaped my professional, and personal self.
My students... I had a great case load of students. I have encouraged them, been there for them and ultimately, watched them growth over the last year. Each of them had their own story, their own unique path. They have taught me so much.
I'm not much of a goodbye person. It seems too permanent, and make me tear up. "See you later" works, but later makes me feel like there was something left unsaid. Right now, I almost feel like I don't have time for emotions, so a quick "see you later" is all I have been able to get out. I'm running from one event, one goodbye to another, and haven't had time to process. I'm feeling overwhelmed.
How do you say goodbye? What does a good goodbye look like for you?
Weekend Flair #6 - Graduation Cards
Supply List:
  • Green Cardstock
  • Black Cardstock
  • One Black Brad (Heidi Swapp)
  • Glue Dots
  • Green Tassel (Jolee's Sticker)
  • Embossing Powder (Enchanted Gold)
  • Versa Craft Ink (White)
  • Hero Arts Stamp ("Congratulations")
  • Cricut Jasmine Font
I first cut the green card stock to 9x4 inches and the black card stock to 3 3/4 x 8 3/4. I fastened the black onto the green.
Using additional green card stock, I used my cricut (with Jasmine font) to cut "KRISTI".
Then used my sticked maker (Xyron 150) to add adhesive to the letters.
I laid the tassel and stamp on the card to assist in placing the letters vertically in the correct spot on the on the right side of the black card stock.
I used the white versa mark ink and the stamp to put "Congratulations" on the bottom of the card, sprinkled embossing powder over it, and then used a heat tool to complete the embossing process.
I used the brad and a glue dot to affix the tassel.
I created a couple other similar cards, as seen below.
What creative projects have you worked on this weekend?
Six.. urrgh Seven Random things
I was tagged by Michie over at Seeking Imperfection. I'm supposed to share seven random facts about myself. THEN, I was tagged by at John Deere Mom, asking me to share 6 random facts about myself. Here goes nothin'!
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share seven facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Seven Random Facts about Crazy Daisy:
1. I do not have a favorite color. When trying to decide on a wedding color, I couldn't. I ended up with 5 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls and they all had a different color dress.
2. I used to live on Mt. Dew. I am too embarrassed to say how many per day. Now I drink mostly water and feel SO much healthier.
3. My high school graduating class was a whopping 17. Yup. Seriously.
4. I really don't like dark chocolate. I mean, it is okay. However I wouldn't just go buy a pure chocolate bar, or a box of chocolates. I am okay with white chocolate in moderation.
5. I also don't like cake. Even as a child I remember asking my mom for treats other than cake on my birthday. Eventually, it became tradition to order me a birthday ice cream cake!
6. In high school, I dyed my hair a crazy color of red for Halloween. My boyfriend and I dressed up like Mulder and Scully (X-files!)! The was a temporary 30 day one that lasted much longer than that.
7. I can play the piano, clarinet, trumpet, and violin, but only the first 3 very well.
Now I'm supposed to tag seven more, however I know a lot of the blogs I read have already completed this one! If you haven't... I tag YOU! If you decide to complete this meme, be sure to leave your link in the comments so everyone can visit you!
