What do you want to know?

As I was looking around my blog today, I realized how crazy it is.

My topics are random. I mean, just take a peak at my tag cloud. Holy Moly! There is even a random tag!

So, as many before me, I am curious... What do you want to know about me? Did I post a random bit of something once, and it sparked a question you have had burning to ask?

Here is your chance. Ask away. Anything. I will do my best to answer them all, as long as the topic is family friendly :-)

So really, what do you want to know about Crazy Daisy and her crazy life?

"a moment in time"

This is my entry in the i faces "Wedding Bells" photo challenge!
This was a perfect theme for my first entry as I recently attended a cousins wedding and caught this beautiful moment. The bride and her daughter... I just love the looks they have on their faces!

Today...

Husband's mom is visiting this weekend/week. We had a nice time walking through a downtown park, doing a little shopping, and just hanging out at the house. I also ordered a bunch of photos from Costco for trying to catch up on printing my Photo 365 project for this year! To try to re-collect myself with all going on, I went through my Remember the Milk page and did a little reorganizing. I'm starting to believe even more that it is the greatest since sliced bread!

Tonight, we have been just sitting around outside. The weather is perfect!

Back to work tomorrow! I'm super excited for the short week!

Can you believe it is nearly July!? Where did the time go!? What are you hoping to do before summer ends?

PS. thank you for the kind words after my last post. I really do appreciate it!

so... yeah.

I'm still here. I know. Shocking.

Here is the deal. Life has been crappy.

Well. I suppose, technically, more of a roller coaster, with lots of downs, twists and unexpected turns.

With this, there is a lot going on, however a lot of stuff I'm not comfortable sharing here.

Sorry.

Nothing against you.

It is hard to talk about.

Not everyone knows.

And I don't need everyone to know everything.

Plus, even though I believe this blog is quite anonymous... who knows...

I am here. I really want to blog. I really like to blog.

However, Unfortunately I haven't had much time.

I will. I do have a lot I want to share, and will share.

It will take time.

I keep loosing readers.

I understand.

However I would love for you to stick this out with me!

Look at it this way... I'm not clogging up your reader!

thank you for listening.

think green

"Green" seems to be all the rage these days. I like being green! and though this kind of green is fun, it isn't quite what I'm talking about this time :-)

Saving money, and leaving minimal environmental impact whenever possible is what I have in mind. Unfortunately, these 2 thing do not always walk hand in hand. Sometimes being green costs a bit, particularly upfront. However with a little research, and diligence, in the long term, it will pay off (both in your pockets and for your planet!).

Today, I'm sharing a combined green topic, hitting in both areas of green!

Husband and I recently (well about a month or so ago), purchased a couple rain barrels. They had the upfront cost (about $99 each), however we figure they will last long enough to pay for themselves over and over. I was at first concerned they would look tacky, however now, they seem to blend in nicely.

They were fairly simple to install (though it does involve cutting your drain to attach - see black item on 2nd photo), and filled quickly with our first rain storm. Holding 57 gal. each, they last awhile, and each time it rains, I'm almost disappointed I cannot store more water!

I have been using the water for indoor and outdoor plants, minus our garden. It is easy to either take the lid off to access water, or to attach a garden hose. There is a variety of opinions out there on if one should use collected/stored rainwater for veggie gardens, however I decided if I would not drink it, I do not want it being dumped on my lettuce and strawberries! My main thing is, that I have no idea what is on my roof (seriously, think about it... dirt, bird droppings, leaves...). Anyhow, the water works greats on the plants that I do not eat.

It has been great, and I say well worth the investment. I like being able to water on "non-water" days, and saving the money and water by not using "tap".

Have you used a rain barrel? Thinking about it?
What are you doing to "think green"?

Do you "Remember the Milk"?

I had post-it notes all over my desk.

I tried keeping one note book with all my "to-do's" however it got messy, turned into 6 notebooks and a huge mess.

I kept a personal computer calendar, work computer calendar, and paper calendar with random things in it.

I had random notes around the house with books to read, groceries to pick up, and websites to visit.

Needless to say, I have a lot going on and often my life is largely unorganized. Granted, I don't forget huge tasks, work projects, etc. However I'm always nervous that I will.

This last week, I was introduced to "Remember the Milk".

It is a free site (of course you can upgrade for a fee), that helps one keep all lists, tasks and to-dos in one place! After using it for just under a week now, I am totally hooked.

When you first log in, it lands at your "Today" list, which as you may have guessed, is everything due today. You can also easily click to "Tomorrow" or "Overdue".

From here, I typically go to my "Lists". These are categories that are completely customizeable. Here is what I have so far:

(Inbox, Bills, Blog/Social Networking, Books to read, Crafts, Family, Friends, Household/yard, MCPA, Personal, Photography, Professional Development, Study/School, Work, Sent, All)

I haven't had a chance to go through all my note books, stickies etc and enter them into the site, however I have not since wrote a sticky note, on in one of my 6 notebooks! Everything is going into a category.

Basically, I keep the site open at all times, adding as needed.

Here is a snapshot of my "Blog/Social Networking" category.

You can click on the above to see the details. You can see on the right it notes total time estimated to complete all tasks here, and my label cloud. You can also see I have a few items past due... oops. (hey, more organized doesn't always mean everything will get done!)

I also have a summary of "today's due tasks" sent to my email every morning (can be customized). Another fun feature that I have yet to use is the "Share". From my understanding, if someone you know also has Remember the Milk, one can share tasks. This would be super handy at work, or possibly in households!

I love it!
Sure there are a couple little picky things I would add or change, as it would work better for me, (ie:being able to color code items acording to category) however overall it is great! I highly recommend this! And heck, you can't beat free!
