Saying goodbye

I swear... I will get better at this blogging thing. I remember the days were I posted, rain or shine, 8am, or 3am...

... life keeps getting in the way. Last week, my grandfather passed away. Since then, I have been trying to balance between family time, professional time (work etc), and me time. It is hard. I really haven't had a chance to process everything.

I grew up on a farm/ranch in the middle of no where. My grandparents lived in the same yard. I could see their house from my front step. They were always there for me. When I was little, I would "run away" to grandma and grandpa. When I was a teenager, I would sit with grandma at the kitchen table, drinking tea, and talk about anything and everything. Grandpa would let me rid in the tractor with him, and in the evening, we would sit and listen to his stories...

Grandma passed away last year. I think saying goodbye to her was one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do. Now and then, I still find a tear escapes in her memory. Now grandpa is gone too. Tears have rolled down my face, however there is still a feeling of something unfinished.

... I guess I'll see what tomorrow brings.

  1. I am SOOOO sorry to hear that. I hope you are getting the support you need there and we'll be here when you are ready. Take your time.

  2. Oh no! I'm sending a big hug (virtual, of course) and prayers your way.
