Only took a month!

I want to thank Amber, tootie, Sharla, John Deere Mom, Brittney Kaye, and daisy .... for guessing on my "What a Deal" post, all the way back from April 21! Holy cow!

I can't believe no one said... "hey, Crazy Daisy... tell us what the heck you bought for $22.99 that was originally priced at $229.99! Geez, how long does it take?"

Well, I guess it takes me just under a month. Sorry. I kept meaning to post it, however there is so much going on! And with so much going on, I have so many things i want to share, however haven't had a chance!

Okay, Okay.. anyhow, on to my awesome purchase!

Here it is...

Isn't it just grand! Not worth $229.99, however very much work $22.99!

I actually purchased 2! One for the guest room, and one for the master bedroom!

Knitting the nights away, oh and car rides too!

Both and Barbara guess I had started knitting... and they were totally right!

I have wanted to learn to knit for awhile, however with my scrapbook/craft room stuffed full of paper, sticker and cricut machine, I decided maybe I should stick to paper crafts. However I finally gave in, bought a couple knitting needles, some yard and a book or two.

Other than being interested in learning to knit, I always feel antsy while sitting in the car on long trips, or even while spending an evening watching TV. I felt like my sitting was a waste of my time. Now, when I'm sitting, I'm knitting :) haha...

My work isn't great, but being I taught myself I figured it isn't to bad, plus I have something to show for my time.

Here is my first finished project/scarf.

I'm working on a 2nd and am about 1/2 done. More to come!

Honest Scrap

Once upon a time a wonderful friend and blogger, Daisy, awarded an award to some fellow friends and bloggers....

And this blogger nearly forgot. It isn't that I didn't appreciate, or feel thankful. It has just been my blog has taken the back burner for a while.

Here are the rules that you agree to when you accept this award . . .

"When you receive the prize, you must write a post showing it, together with the name of who has given it to you, and link them back. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in their content or design. Show their names and links and leave them a comment informing that they were prized with 'Honest Weblog'. List [if you can and/or dare] at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Should they choose to accept, in no particular order, I nominate these honest bloggers:

1. Leslie at Adventures in Randomness - - She is not afraid to put herself out there. Her blog is real life as it happens. I love her honesty of thoughts, beliefs, fears and accomplishments...

2. Mel at Mel A Dramatic Mommy -- Check out the Jan 15 post. One cannot be any more honest than this :-) and anyone brave enough to share this is worthy of an award! hehe!

3. John Deere Mom -- From P**P, to farm animals, puppy trouble, and other random, honest bit of real life, this blog is full of smiles!

4. Michie at Seeking Imperfection -- The ups and downs of buying a house, balancing a job, a family and quest to be imperfect. It is wonderful, honest, real life stuff!

okay, so the "rules" say list 7. Well, I'm listing 4... and starting my list of 10 Honest things about myself...

1) I hate following rules. :-)
2) My puppy is one of the family. I NEVER thought I would be one of those people.
3) Husband and I dated starting when we were 14... crazy. However it is amazing how much we have grown together and shaped each others lives (in such a positive way).
4) I am a perfectionist. However I tend to find myself thinking, If it cannot be perfect I will not do it at all. This gets me in trouble...
5) My dream would be to be a stay at home wife/mom. I never thought I would feel that way, but the thought has crossed my mind.
6) I love to play "hostess", however often dislike going to other peoples events.
7) I regret not continuing to take piano lessons.
8) I want to participate in a marathon someday!
9) I enjoy cleaning my house.
10) I miss my grandma.

Menu Plan Monday 7-7-08

Monday - - (No meat Monday) - - Potato-Veggie Frittata - One of my recently new favorites... yes, I know. I list this a lot on my menu plans! However, it works with so many different veggie combos, with/without meat... I just LOVE it!

Potato-Veggie Frittata

2 T vegetable oil
1 small onion, peeled and chopped fine
1 pound small new potatoes, cut into quarters and parboiled
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
8 large eggs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp dried rosemary
1 cup mixed veggies (broccoli, carrots, mushrooms...)
1/4 pound sliced ham, chopped
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a 12-inch nonstick skillet with oven-proof handle heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion; saute 2 minutes. Add potatoes, salt and pepper; cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes.

In medium bowl, with whisk, lightly beat eggs, Parmesan cheese, and rosemary. Stir egg mixture and chopped ham into vegetables; cook 3 minutes. Place in heated oven; bake 10 minutes. (I find it needs a bit more time.) Sprinkle top with mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes more until egg is set and cheese is melted.

Tuesday
- -
Pork roast and potatoes

Wednesday - - Stir Fry

Thursday - - Readers choice! Here's the deal. I have a lot of white potatoes that need using up, and can't think of what to make! Post a recipe in the comments, or link to a recipe using potatoes, and I'll pick one to try on Thursday! I'll give some linky love to the person that posts the winning recipe!

Friday - - Left overs

Saturday
and
Sunday we will be at a wedding!

{I Love you this much} Award!

Barbara over at Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers received this award a few days ago, and decided to pass it along... to ME, as well as some other well deserving folks!

Now, I have the task of passing it a long to 10 more people! Of course, I would give it to Barbara if she hadn't already received it and passed it to me. (She has a great blog and is SO sweet! Really, look at this!).

It was a very hard task picking only 10. I have found so many great blogs and met many great bloggers! I cannot even imagine the total number of hours I have spend reading through new blogs, and catching up on old favorites. I read all kinds of blogs... organizing blogs, craft blogs, money saving blogs... however my favorite ones are those that cover the daily stuff of life, the real stuff.

With that said, I want to honor those bloggers that I have laughed with, cried with, and felt genuinely connected with.

Additionally, I decided to bend the pick ten rule. I decided on 12!

In no particular order...

Angie at SevEn cLoWn CirCuS
Latree at Dandelion
Daisy at Daisy a Day
Tootie at Tootie's Place
Michie at
Seeking Imperfection
Playful Professional at Play More, Laugh More, Live More
Angie at John Deere Mom
Steph at *.*.*pink polka dots*.*.*
Melanie at Life is a Marathon...
Wendy at An Iowa Mom
Leslie at Adventures in Randomness
Heather at Whittaker Women

You are all amazing!
