Weekend Flair - Ed. 3

Some time ago, I came across Heather Bailey's blog. Her posts have given me so much creative inspiration that I have been bursting at the seams wanting to do something crafty. For a few weeks, I have wanted to try out her Paper Globe project, seen here and here. Well, very early this morning (lets say around 2 am), long after my brain shut down and my eyes couldn't read one more sentence about counseling and developmental theories and research, I gave in, and made one of these delightful items!

After my last project, I decided to read the directions along the way (Heather's detailed directions can be found on her web site). I will also try to post the steps I took, though may not be very complete.

1. I chose 10 sheets of paper, and had my Cricut cut 20 five inch circles.

I love that my Cricut did all this work for me. I can't imagine how long it would have taken otherwise, and I'm all about saving time!

2. Had Husband figure out what size triangle I needed. Thanked him.

3. I then folded all circles using triangle pattern.

4. Glued 5 together for the top, and then five others together for the bottom.
5. With the remaining 10 circles, glued them all together "in a line" and then glued each end together to make a ring (I was so excited about this that I forgot to take a photos of this exact step. However you can kind of see the ring in the background of the above photo).

6. Next, I glued the top on the ring, and then the bottom.

7. And Wha-La!

  7. These turned out beautifully! Nice job!!

I love the colors and the way you mixed them. I'm always afraid to mix too many different patterns, but they look great on your project.

    Thanks for sharing.

  13. My cricut has been such as blessing. It saves time and allows me so many more options. Plus, though it is initially spendy, overall I have been able to save a lot of money by making tags and embellishments myself!
