I want the weekend back

The 3 day weekend was one of the best I have ever had. Yeah. That good. It felt like way more than 3 days. It likely helped I spent only one day at work last week, and the other days took vacation to be with family for a long holiday.

I spent the weekend cleaning, organizing, finishing projects, relaxing, reflecting on my bucket list, blogging, helping Alan on his blog and starting on my One Little Word Class with Ali Edwards! It is all amazing. Sunday night I posted on my facebook status "feeling refreshed". I meant it. I felt good.

My mom asked my secret. I simply stated the first thing that came to mind, "days off work. extra sleep. burnt food (hehe). fresh air. finishing projects that have been sitting and taunting me for way to long...

Well,  maybe not the burnt food (I burnt everything I made on New Years Eve), however the rest is totally right on.

I'm not sure where this leaves me. Not working is not an option at this point. I am out of vacation days. I get off work after dark, thus cannot spend much time outside, and not time to finish all these projects once I get home. My days seem to be too compact during the work week. I hate that.

Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy my job. I might go as far as say that I love my job, however recently it has come with it's own set of frustrations and headaches.

I'm trying to figure out what my next step is. Thinking of my word this year, {simple}. Not sure of my next step.

Maybe tomorrow will bring a fresh perspective :) As for today... well it is time to sleep.

  1. I can relate to your feeling refreshed after a little extra time off of work. Best of luck finding a good balance when you get back to work. Keep it simple, right? =)
