Scrapbooking for Pets

I LOVE scrapbooking. I have been the kind of scrapbooker who focused on vacation photos. I'm several vacations behind, and though trying to catch up, and realizing I need a new system (check out  my new system here!)

I am starting to realize I much prefer scrapbooking every day moments vs 100's of vacation pics. Don't get me wrong, I love looking through travel photos. There is definitely something about being on vacation, exploring new places that makes me so happy. However, it seems with only focusing on vacations, I was forgetting the important daily events that happen in my life. What does this say about me, my life and my priorities? Yikes. It isn't really a terrible thing, however I want to also document birthdays and days on the lake, and at the park, and hanging out in the back yard!

Some of my favorite recent layouts include Dakota and/or Jaffery. In honor of Jaffery's recent adoption birthday (part 1 - part 2/etsy giveaway) and PetFinder's 15th year anniversary, I'm posting a few! :)

I'm not sure on the brand of all items, however included it below when I did know. When I am down to odds and ends, I typically do not remember what brand they are from.

This first one was my first full page photo. I added the text in Photoshop, uploaded to Costco, and had it printed within 24 hours!  The rest is fairly simple. Text cut on the Cricut, simple boarders on the photos, and the paw prints are from BoBunny 12x12 Pet Shop Cutouts, and put in tags.
Journaling: "We talked multiple times about taking Dakota and Jaffery in the canoe. We picked out puppy life jackets, filled the to go puppy water bottle and filled the middle of the canoe with puppy pillows. When we got to Crystal Lake, of course, we had a crowd of people watching. Regardless, we got everyone in the boat and successfully launched. All went downhill from there. Dakota went from looking over one side of the boats, to wanting to look out the other side. Of course to look out the other side he was convinced he also needed to move to the other wise, causing some serious rocking of the boat. Jaffery, who had slept the one time we had taken him out previously, decided he wanted to lean over the edge of the boat and bite at the water...  yes, bite the water. With all the movements, and rocking in the boat, Kim was freaking out, and Alan, sitting in the front, had no idea what the heck was going on. We eventually made it back to shore. Kim sat with the canoe. Alan drive Dakota and Jaffery home.

This page was so much fun to create! I took several odds and ends stickers, paper strips etc that I had and they matched up so well!
Patterned paper, & paper strips, and a couple of the stickers: Scooter's Vacation Collection.
Giant arrow & the {}: We R Memory Keepers "Grandma's Kitchen".

What do you scrapbook or keep in some sort of display and what does it say about you?
Is it what you want it to say about you and your life?

  1. Those are great scrapbook pages. I wish mine looked that good. My scrapbooks are for my kids but I haven't worked on them in about a year.

  2. I never think about scrapbooking. I have a ton of pictures of my first daughter and very few of my second. It's good idea to do it every day because then it doesn't feel like a chore or a job. I should really start to save the memories.

Visiting from SITS Comment Hour...a little late!

  4. These look so good, SOOO good!
I like to digital scrapbook. I put all the "buttons" and "scrap papers" into a pages file and then print my decorated pages and slip them into sheet protectors. I don't do it very often, only for special occasions.
